Enjoy a seafood tasting experience as part of Sitges Museums summer festival

Enjoy a unique seafood tasting experience this Monday 7 August, as part of the Sitgestiu summer cultural festival that runs until the end of August.

The Fishermen’s Guild of Sitges invites you to a unique experience that fuses art with their age-old trade. In a journey through the works of the Luminist school of artists, you’ll learn about the fishing gear used on the Garraf coast, and end up on the terraces of Maricel Palace, where fishermen will offer a taste of their seafood. It will be accompanied by local wine from Malvasia de Sitges.

The Luminist school consisted of a group of painters who settled in Sitges during the last quarter of the 19th century. The coast and landscape of Sitges, the streets, the beaches, the vineyards and its people, become the protaganists of Luminism, capturing atmospheric effects and especially the effects of light in the seaside town.

This unique event starts at 19h (in English), 19.30h (Spanish) and 20h (Catalan) on Monday 7 August. Tickets are €23 (with other standard discounts), and can be booked by clicking here.

In its 25th anniversary, the ‘Sitgestiu’ festival offers over 30 events and activities that mix music, opera, jazz, family workshops, film screenings, sensory experiences, wine tasting dinners as well as many guided heritage and art tours, among others – and with many events also being offered in English.
