Jazz concerts on 16 & 30 July, plus 21 Aug, as part of the ‘Sitgestiu’ Festival

There are three special jazz concerts taking place in and around the Sitges Museums this July and August, as part of their annual festival.

The Sitges Museums’ summer festival, known as ‘Sitgestiu’, offers a total of 37 very diverse cultural activities for all tastes during the months of July and August, and with many events also in English.

The first two concerts on Tuesday 16 July and Tuesday 30 July will take place inside the unique setting of the Cau Ferrat Museum (main image) and will be performed by the Retrio musicians – with Òscar Ferret on piano, Josep Pinyu Martí on drums, and Joan Pinós on double bass.

They’ll be playing musical compositions that form part of the popular culture of Sitges, such as the dances in the town’s festival and the works of composers such as Enric Morera, Gabriel Pallarès and Manel Torrens, all with a variety of rhythms ranging from jazz and swing to traditional music.

Both concerts on 16 and 30 July start at 20h and tickets are €12. Click here for tickets.

This same Retrio group is made up of three Sitgetans who have grown up listening to the popular tunes of their Festa Major will also be performing those songs on Wednesday 21 August in another concert, that will also incorporate Swing, Dixieland, funk or bossa nova, to bring a new air to the traditional popular Sitgetan dances.

This third concert will take place outside in the Racó de la Calma (image below) and will also start at 20h. Tickets are €12. Click here for tickets.
