Unique ‘Modernista night routes’ with ice cream, as part of the ‘Sitgestiu’ Festival

There are two unique ‘Modernista night routes’ of Sitges to enjoy on 20 July and 3 August, culminating with delicious ice cream, as part of the Sitges Museums’ summer cultural festival.

The museums’ summer festival, known as ‘Sitgestiu’, offers a total of 37 very diverse cultural activities for all tastes during the months of July and August, and with many events also in English.

These night guided tours of the main Modernista buildings in the town of Sitges, will include explanations of the fundamental features and ideals of this cultural and artistic movement that developed in Catalonia at the end of the 19th century and start of the 20th.

Sitges was the cradle of Modernism, with Modernista theatres, festivals, renowned architects, and the constant presence of intellectuals and artists who left their mark on the town.

The tours will end at the Cau Ferrat Museum with a tasting of an ice cream by Mamá Heladera, inspired by the essences of Modernism at the Racó de la Calma.

The tours take place on Saturday 20 July and Saturday 3 August, commencing at 21.30h, and lasting approximately for an hour and forty-five minutes. The tours will be conducted in English, Catalan and Spanish and the recommended age is from 16 years upwards. Tickets are €20. Click here for tickets for Saturday 20 July.
