Enjoy the full moon with a guided tour of the Sitges Maricel Museum

As part of the Sitges Museums’ Summer Cultural Festival, they’re offering guided tours of the Maricel complex during the full moon evenings of Monday 3 July and Tuesday 1 August – and which includes a guided tour in English.

The tour will ensure that you see the Maricel Museum like you’ve never seen it before, with the guides ‘transporting you to its age of splendour as you discover its past’. You’ll hear the story of its creators, American collector Charles Deering, engineer and artistic promoter Miquel Utrillo, and sculptor Pere Jou.

The tour ends in the cloister overlooking the sea, with the full moon taking centre stage.

Tickets are just €12 which includes a glass of Cygnus Giennach cava. The English guided tour sets off at 21.30h, with the Spanish and Catalan tours starting at 22h and 22.30h respectively. Click here to book your tickets.

In addition to the full moon guided tours on 3 July and 1 August, the Sitges Museums are also putting on a full ‘gastronomic experience itinerary’ with a full moon dinner on Thursday 31 August.

The noucentiste terraces of the Maricel Palace will provide the setting for this unique, moonlit dinner, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the ‘Sitgestiu’ festival. The evening will begin with a guided tour to discover the building, one of the architectural gems of Noucentisme in Sitges, decorated by Miquel Utrillo and American art collector Charles Deering.

It will be a unique chance to observe the star-studded Sitges sky and the summer calm of the Mediterranean Sea from a prime emblematic position. As well as appreciating the lovely setting of the Palace’s noucentiste terraces, attendees will enjoy a sumptuous dinner served by Grup M.A. caterers. There will also be live music with Bibiana Gomís on vocals, Joan Pinós on double bass, and Òscar Ferret on piano.
