The Sitges Museums are hosting two tours of ‘pairing of aromas and wines’ at the Palau de Maricel on Friday 26 July and Friday 9 August, as part of their summer festival.
The museums’ festival, known as ‘Sitgestiu’, offers a total of 37 very diverse cultural activities for all tastes during the months of July and August, and with many events also in English.
Please note that these tours of ‘pairing of aromas and wines’ are being held only in Spanish and Catalan.
The ‘olfactory tour’ is the perfect opportunity to discover the different spaces of the Palau through aromas.
‘The Palace has three olfactory axes: the smell of the sea, the smell of the earth and the smell of the sky, but which intersect with the smell of luxury, the flowers of the Mediterranean or the mystique of its chapel, truly composing a symphony of perfumes that awakens emotions linked to our olfactory memory and the history of the Palace itself,’ the organisers have said.
The aromas will be presented and explained by Irene Gisbert, anthropologist and perfumer. The three wines to accompany the tour are from Sumarroca and will be presented by sommelier, Mercè Sumarroca.
The tours last for approximately one hour and are recommended for those aged 18 and above. The tours in Spanish commence at 18.30h and in Catalan at 20h. The price is €20. Click here for tickets for Friday 26 July. Click here for tickets for Friday 9 August.
