Bodega La Palma

Marble tables, wine barrels, wooden benches and original furniture preserve the spirit of this emblematic venue and a meeting point for artists, painters and poets with more than 80 years of history.
It is currently a gastro-winery where traditional Catalan cuisine is offered with innovative touches. Excellent tapas, dishes, a wide selection of wines and lunch menus (working days) made with seasonal products, proximity and from small producers.
Bodega La Palma is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic locals of the Gothic quarter in Barcelona.
Opened in 1935 as a grocery store, it was transferred five years later, at which time it was reborn as a winery. It also served as an impromptu meeting point for artists, painters and poets of the recent history of Barcelona. In 1987, the business became ‘La Bodega de la Señora Maria’ and adapted to the new times, including for the first time a coffee machine and a variety of homemade omelettes, without neglecting its tradition: the barrel wine. The daughter Carme continued the business adapting to the new times.
The last change was in 2005, when the new owners expanded the menu to convert the cellar into what it is today: a place that perfectly combines traditional and innovation Catalan cuisine.
