Business owners in the Carrer Sant Bartomeu in Sitges demand a solution

Shop, bar and restaurant owners on the Carrer Sant Bartomeu in Sitges are demanding a solution about the presence of a mobile rubbish container in the middle of the street, almost touching the corner of Carrer Jesús. They say it is having a negative impact on the image and activity of the street.

Two years ago, in July 2020, the owners of the establishments signed a formal complaint in which they expressed their discomfort generated by portable containers that the cleaning operators leave in the street between approximately 5pm and 2am.

Precisely at those times, and especially during the summer months, is when the adjacent streets are filled with tourists, and the bars and restaurants on the street open their doors. Restaurateurs claim that because of the container, the establishments have fewer customers than other businesses in the vicinity.
