How to enter the Sanvisens painting & Pere Jou sculpture competitions in Sitges

Registration is now open to enter for the 36th Sanvisens Painting Competition and 26th Pere Jou Sculpture Competition in Sitges. Those who are interested can register exclusively online until 4 September to promote their artistic talent.

Artists from the world of painting, sculpture and plastic arts, and who live in Spain, can register exclusively online through the web platform www.mundoarti.com. To register, it is necessary to fill in a form with personal data and attach an image of the work to be submitted to the competition, as well as a photocopy of the author’s ID or NIE.

The theme and technique of the works to be presented for both competitions are free to choose.

The pre-selection of the works will take place on 10 September and the publication of the list of admitted and excluded, between 11-16 September. The selected works will then have to be presented in physical form from 17 September to 9 October, Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm, and on weekends from 10am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm at the Miramar Cultural Centre in Sitges

A jury will evaluate the works presented in both contests and will announce the winners on 15 October. However, the awards will be presented during the Sitges Awards Night celebration in 2022. All the works selected will appear in an exhibition that can be visited from 29 October 2022 to 8 January 2023.

The Sitges Town Council’s culture department, with the collaboration of the Sanvisens and Pere Jou families, organises the Sanvisens and Pere Jou awards annually, which help promote artistic talent. Edition after edition, the number of participating artists increases, as well as the artistic quality of the works presented.

The first prize in the Sanvisens Painting Contest is €3,500, awarded by the Sitges Town Council’s culture department, and a second prize of €1,500 given by the Sanvisens family. The first prize in the Pere Jou Sculpture Competition is also €3,500, awarded by the culture department, with a second prize of €1,500 from the Jou family.

As part of the first prizes, the winners will have the possibility to exhibit their work in a space or exhibition hall in the town.
