Average age of new Covid infections in Sitges is nearly 50 years old

After the recent rise in Covid earlier this month following the local Carnival celebrations, epidemiological data in Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes has once again declined, and is now more in line with the rest of Catalonia, although the average age of new infections has risen markedly in recent days. In Sitges the average age for new cases is close to 50 years old.

Of the 100 positive cases reported in Sitges in the last seven days, the average age is 48.4 years. As usual, this is higher than the average age across Catalonia, which is currently 42.5. In Sant Pere de Ribes it is 46.7.

In just 15 days, the average age has risen by 12 years. On 8 March, following the impact of Carnival, it was 36.3 years – which had been a noticeable decrease on previous weeks.
