More free parking spaces for Sitges local residents

The Sitges Town Council is to create 500 new spaces for green zone parking in the neighbourhoods of Poble Sec and Les Cases Noves, and which will be put into operation during the first quarter of this year.

The parking spaces will be free for local residents, but will cost about twice as much as a blue zone for vehicles from outside the municipality.

The local councillor for mobility, Jaume Monasterio, said: ‘The aim is that people from outside the municipality prioritise going to a blue zone, and that residents can go directly to the green zone, as we have achieved in the Oasis, where the neighbourhood now has more available parking than earlier, because those who come from outside go to Can Robert, which is cheaper.’
