The sixth ‘Rethink Sitges’ Conference to be held on 13 December

The 6th ‘Repensar Sitges’ (‘Rethink Sitges’) Conference, organised by L’Eco, will be held on Wednesday 13 December at the Palau de Maricel – and it is free to attend.

The ‘Repensar Sitges’ sessions are a chance to reflect on the future challenges of Sitges, with the collaboration of different entities and organisations, as well as local professionals from different sectors, including from outside Sitges with the aim of sharing success stories from other towns and cities that may be of interest for Sitges.

This year’s programme is as follows:

  • 10 am – Inauguration.
  • 10.05 am – ‘The present and future challenges for the sustainable development of Sitges’ – with Carme Gasulla, deputy mayor of Sitges Town Council
  • 10.30 am – ‘Sitges: projects for a new town model’ – with Miquel Barceló, industrial engineer and economist.
  • 11.10 am – Coffee break.
  • 11.30 am – ‘Architecture, landscape and community: new models for living’ – with Maria Sisternas and Sergi Gargallo, architects.
  • 12.15 pm – ‘Innovate or die’ – with Carles Ortet, publicist, and Txell Bautista, businesswoman and social activist.
  • 1 pm – ‘Vallcarca project: from the cement plant to a new innovation district’ – with Jordi Artigas, architect and town planner, and Xavier Fainé, businessman.
  • 4.30 pm – ‘Live the brand and dream in new projects’ – Dialogue between former Sitges mayors Jordi Serra and Jordi Baijet.
  • 5.15 pm – ‘Sitges: open town or closed community?’ – Dialogue between Tim Parfitt, journalist, and Cerys Morgan, human resources expert.
  • 6 pm – ‘Next Generation Fund: New opportunities and challenges to combat the climate emergency’ – with Aurora Carbonell, Mayor of Sitges.

The event and all sessions are free to attend, with prior registration, by sending an email to: repensarsitges@lecodesitges.cat, indicating your name, ID, and town of residence.
