Drugged driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal accident in Sitges arrested

The Catalan police, the Mossos d’Esquadra, arrested on Monday evening the driver of an off-road 4×4 vehicle involved in a fatal accident in Sitges for testing positive for cocaine.

The 49-year-old individual is accused of a crime of reckless homicide and against traffic safety for driving under the influence of drugs.

The events took place at 9.30pm at km 177.5 of the C-31, in the municipality of Sitges, but close to Castelldefels. The detainee’s vehicle and a motorcycle collided, and as a result of the injuries sustained, the driver of the motorcycle, a 39-year-old resident of Viladecans, lost his life. The detainee has been taken before the court.
