Vandals burn a trash container in the Carrer Joan Maragall, Sitges

Vandals set light to a rubbish container in the Carrer Joan Maragall in Sitges in the early hours of last Saturday morning, which ended up being completely destroyed.

The container was one for recycling paper and cardboard, which caused it to catch light easily and very quickly. Neighbours alerted the local police, who arrived within a few minutes and began to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. The agents alerted the local Fire Department, who also arrived shortly after and managed to extinguish the fire.

The fire also reached a vehicle that was parked next to the container, although it didn’t burn due to the quick action of the police and firefighters. The vehicle’s owner was later notified.
