Ràdio Sitges puts the soundtrack to the ‘Catalan metaverse’

Metaverse is one of the serious candidates to enter the select list of keywords for 2022. In the current edition of the Sitges Next festival, for example, this technological concept was the protagonist of three presentations, highlighting the historical moment that surrounds the creation of this virtual universe, as well as the job opportunities it can generate among the creatives who help develop it.

In this new universe a virtual world in which people live, work, shop and interact with others, all from the comfort of their couch in the physical world – there is also a Sitgetan presence.

Ràdio Sitges has become one of the first media groups in Catalonia to participate in the metaverse. During this month of November, coinciding with what has been dubbed the CatVers Festival, users are able to visit the virtual room of Ràdio Sitges, which recreates La Fragata area of Sitges.

It has been created jointly with the development team of Blockchain of Catalonia and the architect Maria Elena Pla i Cuyàs, of the Institute of Construction Technology of Catalonia.

Everyone who accesses this multimedia space will be able to enjoy the local radio station’s regular music programme, as well as exclusive content, such as live broadcasts, DJ sessions and ‘some more surprises’. To access it, follow this link to https://catvers.land and simply register with your name and email to enter.
