The preparations for the Sitges Carnival are continuing and – at least for the time being – are not being affected by the new measures to combat Covid brought in by the Catalan government, and which came into force on Christmas Eve.
This has been confirmed by the Sitges Town Council’s Department of Traditions and Festivals, the Commission for general events, as well as by the Retiro and the Prado as far as the events being planned there.
All parties agree that the objective remains the same as announced in early November: ‘a maximum Carnival, adapted to current regulations’.
The organisers have said that all preparations are advanced and that the calendar previously stipulated is being maintained, although they acknowledge that they will obviously be watching the evolution of the pandemic over the coming weeks.
