Man jumps from 7th floor of block of flats in Sitges, but only breaks one leg

A 51-year-old man jumped from the 7th floor of an apartment building in the Cortijo complex on the Passeig de Vilanova in Sitges on Sunday – and only broke one leg.

According to the emergency services, the man consciously threw himself from the building. The flat from which he jumped is reportedly inhabited by a relative of his, although he does not live there himself. The man fell in one of the grassy areas at the base of the complex, and was fortunate not to come into contact with cement or stone when falling.

The Emergency Medical Service (SEM) were quick to arrive at the scene with two ambulances and another vehicle. The paramedics treated the man where he fell, but later took him to the Sant Camil Hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening. The Mossos d’Esquadra and the Sitges Local Police also went to the scene.
