Wild boars walk through Can Pei and Can Robert in Sitges

Five wild boars caused some tense moments last Sunday afternoon around the Can Robert park in Sitges.

The animals went down to the park in search of food at a time when the area was full of people walking their pets – as well as parents, children and young adults having a good time. Citizens tried to scare them away but the wild boars, accustomed to humans, ignored them and even almost collided with a motorcyclist. They were also recently seen in front of the Maria Ossó school, but fortunately it was already closed.

The presence of wild boars has multiplied in recent times, due to the overcrowding in Garraf Park. During the weeks of last year’s spring confinement, they went down to the Paseo Marítimo in Sitges itself, where they were seen on several occasions.

At the beginning of November, a large wild boar strolled through Vallpineda in search of food. They have also frequented Pins Bens and Quint Mar. ALSO READ: Wild boars also seen in the urbanisation of Vallpineda.
