In the last week (2-9 May), almost 800 first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in Sitges (exactly 793). In the same period, 386 second jabs were also administered. These are reasonable figures, but still not the maximum rate for first doses, as 1,136 were given in one week a month ago (5-11 April), although only 24 second jabs in that same week.
3,303 people from Sitges and 3,276 from Sant Pere de Ribes have now been fully vaccinated with two jabs [or, if available, from the one-shot Janssen vaccine]. This is 11.27% and 10.65% of the populations, respectively. Across Catalonia, it is 13.69%.
As for those citizens who have received just a first jab of the vaccine, it is 24.78% of the population in Sitges and 23.45% in Sant Pere de Ribes, a few points below the Catalan average, which is 28.57%.
Total vaccination figures are still low locally, but are expected to increase in the coming days, as now a month ago there was an acceleration with inoculations to people in their 60s. So those who were vaccinated in the first weeks of April with Pfizer or Moderna are now receiving the second dose.
