Japan Weekend Madrid returns

On 16 and 17 February Madrid hosts another edition of Japan Weekend, the Spanish capital’s celebration of a range of contemporary Japanese culture.

The packed two-day programme features concerts, workshops, merchandise, board and video games, and much more.

Among the highlights of Japan Weekend are the various special guests who have been invited to take part.

Japanese rapper Akkogorilla, who has opened up a gender and feminism debate in the country, heads up the music bill, which also features rock duo Kuni-Ken.

Popular wrestler Sumire Natsu will be demonstrating her skills for the first time in Europe, and Spanish illustrator Conrad Roset, who was the artistic brains for the GRIS video game, also makes an appearance.

Cosplay is one of the main attractions of this festival and there are various contests planned while international cosplayers like Norwegian Starbit and Phil Mizuno from Canada are scheduled to visit.
