10% of Sitges citizens are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19

Nearly 10% (actually 9.9%) of all Sitges residents and 8.61% of those in Sant Pere de Ribes are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19. This is still a modest figure, but it is expected to increase significantly in the coming weeks, thanks to the arrival of new doses of vaccines across Catalonia.

The Sitges figure of 9.9% is slightly lower than the 11.33% of all Catalans who are fully vaccinated. In both Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes, the speed of administering jabs is lower than the Catalan average: a first dose has now been received by 22.26% and 21.18%, respectively, while across the whole of Catalonia it is already at 25.37%.

The last week has seen a good recovery in the speed of the vaccination programme. In Sitges, 795 first doses were administered, a considerable increase compared to the previous 450. However, the maximum amount of doses given in one week, recorded in the days after Easter when 1,136 jabs were administered, has not yet been  surpassed.
