Sitges Mayoress Aurora Carbonell: ‘I really want to testify’

In an interview published in L’Eco last week, the Mayoress of Sitges, Aurora Carbonell, reiterated that she ‘really wants to testify’ in the case of the Taula del Tercer Sector (Third Sector Board) that hit the news last June.

She made the comments in an interview in which she addressed other issues related to local current affairs, including the Vallcarca technology project, the cleaning of public roads, the 2023 Budget and the tension that exists in local politics.

‘I am more eager than anyone else to be able to testify. Until then, we must not act as judges or lawyers. These are preliminary proceedings and judicial procedures must be respected,’ said Carbonell, who is convinced that ‘I will complete my years as mayoress and that I will then hand over the post to Carme Gasulla’ [currently deputy mayoress, who is set to take over the role in the final year of the term].
