Sitges town buses will expand their service with a new tender

The Sitges Town Council has decided to extend the current contract of the local town bus, valid since 2011 and which ends this coming September, of which the company Transports ciutat Comtal is the concessionaire.

Despite this, however, the council is already working on the new tender and aims to modify and improve the service in order to adapt it to current needs and also over the coming years.

The new proposal envisages modifying the route of some of the lines, increasing the frequency of buses during the summer months, as well as increasing the number of vehicles.

It is also contemplated applying an ‘on-demand’ bus system that would be requested through a mobile app. This would allow knowing at all times the location of the bus and the waiting time, which would also apply to the stops in the town that are more distant and normally with fewer users.

It has also been considered applying temporary fixed stops in the summer season, when there are more users and which in the winter months would be on demand.
