Work begins on six new consultation modules at the CAP in Sitges

Construction work on the expansion project of the Sitges Primary Care Centre (CAP) is already underway. The Catalan Department of Health has started work on the construction of six new consultation modules that will improve the care for local citizens, until the new project of creating a new building in the sandy parking lot located in front of the local police is finished.

The aim is to expand the current space in the short term in order to achieve a greater number of consultations, so that the current assistance capacity of the CAP can be increased and public attention can be improved.

The forecast is that the current works could be finished by the end of this year. For the development of the project, an investment of €350,000 has been budgeted, which will be financed by the Catalan Health Service through the REACT-EU European Funds.

The new consultation modules aim to respond to the immediate needs of the centre, and will be intended for the pediatrics area and for multipurpose use by the rest of the health professionals, with the aim of easing the current situation of the service.

The expansion will be carried out through an industrialised unit that will be connected to the main building and will house the rear area of the CAP, which until now was intended for the parking of staff vehicles.

The new modules will have a design that combines functionality and comfort, and that have all the necessary supplies, as well as air conditioning and natural light in all spaces.

At the same time, work will continue on the construction of the new CAP building that will replace the current one, although it is still in an early phase.
