Man left wounded following a knife attack in Carrer Sant Pau in Sitges

In the early hours of Saturday 31 December, a man was left wounded from a knife attack in the Carrer Sant Pau in Sitges, after a fight between two people. The man was transferred to the Hospital de Sant Camil due to the injuries sustained to his arm.

The events took place at 5.15am, at the exit of a nightclub on the Carrer Sant Pau. Two people intervened in the fight, one of whom took out a knife and tried to stab the other. A tourist who was in the area tried to protect the victim and was punched by the attacker.

A few minutes after the fight broke out, a police patrol arrived and arrested the aggressor. The individual had no documentation on him and was taken to the Mossos police station, where he was then taken to court.

Shortly after this incident, another fight took place at the corner of Carrer Sant Pere with La Ribera. In this case, it was between a boy and a girl, who started arguing and then the argument ended aggressively. The local police arrived at the scene and tried to separate them.

At that moment, some of the group from the fight that had taken place on Carrer Sant Pau also arrived, and according to the police, then tried to stop the agents’ attempts to mediate in the conflict.
