Average spending in Sitges remains 40% higher than across Catalonia

The average transaction or ‘purchase receipt’ across all establishments in Sitges during the last week of October was 42 euros, according to data from Banco Sabadell based on a study of card transactions across the town.

This is 40% higher than the Catalan average, which is 30 euros. The average purchase receipt in Sitges in the last week of October was also one euro higher than at the end of September. It also shows a substantial increase over the same dates last year.

At the end of October 2020, the average transaction in Sitges was 30 euros, a lower amount than at the end of September of the same year, which was 34. The latest figures show a huge increase year-on-year for Sitges, as well as when compared to other municipalities. 

In Sant Pere de Ribes, the latest average transaction has fallen by 4 euros compared to October 2020 and is now at 27, whilst in the city of Barcelona it has risen by one euro in a year and is now at 26.
