The latest Covid-19 epidemiological data for both Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes indicates that the situation is improving. The figures are better locally than the national average, although there are still some high-risk figures.
The risk of infection (incidence rate) is slightly above 100 points in both municipalities – although yesterday [Wednesday], it had dropped again to 90 in Sant Pere de Ribes. The evolution varies daily, although the best indicator is the comparison with respect to seven days ago, which in this case is more favourable today.
The speed of spread of the virus (Rt) has also dropped and in Sitges today it is 0.70, while in Sant Pere de Ribes it is 0.99. The maximum recommended by Salut, the Catalan Health Department, is 1. The percentage of PCR tests and positive antigen tests is also below the limits (which is 5%): 4.42% in Sitges and 3.25% in Sant Pere de Ribes.
In recent days there have been 18 new positive cases in Sitges, a relatively low figure, which places the increase in cases at moderate levels. However, the percentage of new positives is still higher in Sitges (1.23%) than the Catalan average (0.99%). In Sant Pere de Ribes it has only been 0.49%.
