Get ready for Sónar+D: ‘Creativity, Technology & Business’

Creating music with Google Magenta at Sónar+D 2018.

Sónar+D 2019 will bring some of the most creative and innovative minds to Barcelona once again for its 7th edition on Creative Technologies. It will take place from 17-20 July at Fira Montjuïc in Barcelona – in parallel with Sónar by Day.

The opening conference on Wednesday 17 July will be led by a conversation between Robert del Naja, the visible face and ideologist of Massive Attack, with Andrew Melchior, the CTO of the band, and technology collaborator of artists like Björk, David Bowie and Aphex Twin. Both will share ideas about connecting music and technology.

Sónar+D 2019 focuses on learning as the central axis of its proposal and doubles its offer of conferences, master classes and workshops to be given by more than 200 experts, including world-class creators, technologists and scientists.

More than 20,000 attendees and about 5,000 professionals are expected this year, and 2,100 companies from 60 countries are expected to attend the more than 150 activities.

The festival also has open calls for start-up companies and innovative creators to take part in business challenges.

One of the most important features this year is the addition of a new space: the Sónar+D Auditorium by SEAT, an agora-shaped space with an extensive programme of masterclasses, directed by the best creative technologies international specialists.

This 7th edition will therefore become a true ‘summer school’ for experiential design, artificial intelligence applied to the arts, the Internet of the next 30 years, quantum computing and, as always, the latest in music technology with voices as teamLab, Yukiyasu Kamitani, teenage engineering, Daito Manabe, CANADA or Hamill Industries, Timoni West (XR in Unity Labs), Xenia Ermoshina of the CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research in France), the ideologist ‘solarpunk’ Jay Springett, and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, among many others.

To attend Sónar+D and enjoy all its activities and exclusive advantages there are three types of delegate passes. Click here for further detailswww.sonarplusd.com
