Wild boars are destroying parks in the Madriguera area of Sitges

Wild boars have been damaging three parks during the night in the Madriguera area of Sitges. These are the gardens at the corner of Ribes road with the roundabout that opened two years ago, and in another small triangle located on the Carrer de Lola Anglada.

The grass in all ten areas has been torn up and largely destroyed by the action of the animals. In the case of the park, it has been damaged in four different places, while in the small green area of Lola Anglada – right next to the social housing apartments that the Town Council is building – it has been damaged in two areas.

The presence of wild boars at night in Sitges is more and more common, especially in areas such as Vallpineda or Pins Bens, where they arrive from the Garraf park. They have also been seen in other parts of the town and even on the beach. In Ribes it is even more common to see them. They appear at night, when there is practically no activity, in search of food.

In the Garraf park it is currently estimated that there are six in every square mile, twice as many as twenty years ago.
