Companies behind Vallcarca’s tech hub proposal make their proposal public

The two companies promoting the project of Vallcarca – the construction company FCC and the urban planning studio OUA Group – have officially made public the proposal presented to the Sitges Town Council and the Catalan Government for the comprehensive transformation of the industrial area, with the aim of turning it into a technological and audiovisual hub of international projection.

The total of the current industrial area of Vallcarca is 49 hectares, of which a third (16) would be the object of the operation.

The project envisages turning Vallcarca into a technological city, intended to attract companies from this sector, as well as from the audiovisual world. The plan also incorporates facilities and equipment, such as studios and filming sets, as well as a training complex, which they hope will have the character of a university.

In addition, the project also includes the construction of a hotel and private homes, which would be intended for the people who work there. These last two, however, are elements have so far not generated any initial agreement between the companies involved and the public administrations.
