Vicente Agulló, the owner of Factor Immobiliari, an estate agency located in the centre of Sitges, has reported a suspected fraudster for identity theft.
This person, who operated from the WhatsApp profile ‘Petit Pierre’, pretended to be an employee of this real estate company, and allegedly went so far as to rent out flats to clients in Torredembarra, Vilanova and Sitges with false contracts, keys that didn’t work, or rental conditions that did not fulfill what had been promised.
Agulló found out about the alleged scam just after Carnival, when a woman called complaining that she could not open the flat she had rented with the real estate company in the town of Montroig del Camp, and she could not locate the person with whom she had made the deals.
Agulló quickly realised that something was wrong, since his real estate company does not operate in this area – and he immediately made himself available to the lady to try and clarify the facts.
