Future projects lead the ‘Rethink Sitges’ discussions, with a high participation

The sixth edition of the ‘Repensar Sitges’ (‘Rethink Sitges’) Conference, held on Wednesday at the Palau de Maricel, brought together 100 people, most of them professionals from different fields, such as engineering, economics, architecture, tourism, communication or commerce.

Institutional representatives, both from the Sitges Town Council and other administrations, as well as social and environmental organisations, also attended.

The impetus for new projects was the focus of a large part of the discussions. Various presentations focused on the need to carry out future projects with the purpose of opening new economic opportunities, compatible with tourism, and to continue positioning the town as a destination of reference.

Along these lines, the presentation of the Vallcarca technological district project focused much of the attention, both for the size and scope of its plans, and for the fact that it was the first occasion that this initiative, which has been discussed for over a year, was shown to the public. The climate emergency and sustainability were the protagonists of several other discussions.

Below you can view the videos of each of the discussions that took place in Catalan and Spanish:
