The users of the Rodalies R2 South line had to deal with a new incident this week that caused considerable delays of trains on the line. The cause of the breakdown was a lack of tension on the overheard power cable at Garraf station, which had a significant impact on the movement of trains throughout the day.
Trains on the R2S line had to circulate on a single track due to the incidents, which occurred between Vilanova and Castelldefels.
The incident started with delays of approximately 20 minutes, although the situation worsened and the delays ended up being an hour in some cases. The incident was resolved approximately at 12.15pm and some normality was restored to the tracks, although trains continued to run late throughout the day.
Complaints and frustration from users of the R2 South line were notable. The line suffers frequent delays and incidents, and the dissatisfaction of the passengers highlights, once again, the need for an improvement of the infrastructure and services of Rodalies.
