The latest official figure released by the Spanish Health Ministry on Monday 14 February for the number of people who have tested positive for Coronavirus since the start of the pandemic is now 10,672,906. This is an increase of 68,706 against Friday’s figure. Friday had seen an increase of 49,004 over Thursday.
The incidence rate across Spain has fallen 217 points to 1,244 per 100,000 inhabitants for the past 14 days. On Friday it was 1,461 and Thursday 1,566. It has decreased 753 points in one week, since last Monday’s figure of 1,997. The highest recorded incidence rate in Spain throughout the entire pandemic was 3,418 on Friday 21 January. The age group with the highest incidence rate is those aged 11 and under, at 1,811. It has fallen for all age groups since yesterday’s data. The incidence rates per age group are as follows:
- Aged 11 and under – 1,811 (previously 2,288)
- 12-19 years – 1,809 (2,078)
- 20-29 years – 1,344 (1,498)
- 30-39 years – 1,466 (1,753)
- 40-49 years – 1,395 (1,666)
- 50-59 years – 826 (946)
- 60-69 years – 717 (821)
- 70-79 years – 760 (860)
- Aged 80 and over – 1,107 (1,218)
There have now been 589,677 cases of Coronavirus detected in the past 14 days – out of the total 10,672,906. The figure for the past 7 days is 215,168.
There are currently 12,170 people hospitalised for Covid-19 in Spain (previously 12,843), representing a 9.80% occupation of hospital beds across Spain (10.31%) – dropping below the ‘high risk’ threshold of 10% to ‘medium risk’. 1,525 are in intensive care (1,588), representing 16.34% occupation of intensive care units (ICUs) by Covid patients across Spain (16.94%).
The official figure for the total number of Coronavirus-related deaths since the start of the pandemic on Monday 14 Feb is now 96,596 – an increase of 601 since Friday. This figure includes deaths that had not been previously registered prior to the weekend, as was the case in Catalonia. The figures last Monday had shown 335 deaths for the weekend period.

- 1,809 in Cantabria (2,183)
- 1,783 in the Valencia Region (2,041)
- 1,668 in Catalonia (2,127)
- 1,640 in Aragón (1,983)
- 1,497 in Navarra (1,851)
- 1,492 in Extremadura (1,656)
- 1,378 in Castilla y León (1,595)
- 1,359 in Asturias (1,602)
- 1,330 in the Basque Country (1,700)
- 1,263 in the Balearic Islands (1,435)
- 1,150 in La Rioja (1,360)
- 961 in Castilla La Mancha (1,124)
- 883 in Madrid (960)
- 555 in the Canary Islands (617)
- 539 in Andalusia (583)

Covid-19 Vaccinations in Spain
Latest figures (with data collated up to Thursday 10 February) show that Spain has administered 91,411,886 jabs of the Covid vaccine. 38,372,822 people have now been fully vaccinated, which is 81.0% of the total population. A further 23,184,245 ‘booster’ jabs have also been administered.
