One of the projects that Sitges Town Council has been waiting to execute for years is the rehabilitation of the Santa Bárbara ‘masia’.
The aim is for it to become a new facility, and it is included in the council’s budgets for 2023. The current plan faithfully maintains the exterior structure of the old farmhouse, but given its poor state of conservation, the interior will undergo changes to adapt it to the required needs, maintaining the ground floor and two upper floors with the creation of several rooms and spaces intended for local entities.
The project also includes a newly created annex building, which will be connected to the masia by a covered passage. The new structure will be a pavilion with a rectangular floor plan and with a height similar to the original building, intended mainly for the activity and rehearsals of the Colla Jove de Castellers of Sitges, and it is also expected that, provisionally, it will also be able to host the Rhythmic Gymnastics Club of Sitges.
