A 46-year-old man who had gone fishing has been found drowned off the coast of Sitges over the weekend.
According to the Guardia Civil, the 46-year-old man from Corbera de Llobregat went fishing at around 9pm on Saturday and was found drowned on the coast of Els Colls, near Sitges.
On Sunday at noon, the family had reported to the Mossos d’Esquadra that the man had not returned home, which is when a search patrol was initiated. At around 4pm on Sunday, a helicopter spotted a body floating on Dead Man’s Beach. The body was later taken to the of Port of Vilanova i la Geltrú. First reports indicate that there were no signs of violence and the authorities are working on the hypothesis of an accident or drowning due to natural causes.
This is the second death during Easter off the coast of Sitges. On Friday, a 42-year-old man drowned in the waters of Port Ginesta.
