CORONAVIRUS in SPAIN – latest figures

The latest official figures released by the Spanish Health Ministry on Tuesday 2 June show a total of 27,127 Coronavirus-related deaths in Spain – the second consecutive day without an increase. There have now been 34 deaths in the past 7 days.

Monday’s figures had not shown any increase in deaths in 24 hours, and 35 deaths in the past 7 days. Sunday had shown an increase of 2 deaths in 24 hours – and 39 deaths in the past 7 days.

The official figure released on Tueday 2 June for the total number of people who have tested positive for Coronavirus only through a PCR test is now 239,932 – an increase of 137 over Monday.

Out of the 137 new confirmed cases, 73 are in Madrid, 17 in Catalonia and 12 in Andalusia.

Monday’s figure for the increase of infections only through PCR testing was 71 over Sunday – the lowest daily increase since 5 MarchSunday’s comparative figure was 96 over Saturday. Saturday had been 271.

The current peak of recorded infections for a 24-hour period in Spain was on 31 March, when 9,222 new cases were registered (including from PCR and antibody).
