Badalona Magic Festival kicks off 2019 edition

The Badalona Magic Festival, known as the Festival Li Chang in honour of local magician Joan Forns i Jordana (1916-1998) who was known as Li-Chang, starts its 19th edition on 9 February.

Held at the city’s Zorrilla theatre, the festival includes talks and workshops as well as shows featuring local and international magicians.

The inaugural events combines magic and comedy, and there’s also a family performance based around the work of Catalan poet, writer and artist Joan Brossa.

Between 22 and 24 February, the Gala Internacional de Màgia brings together magicians from the USA, Spain, China and France, including Néstor Hato who picked up an award at the 2018 Magic World Championships in Korea.

Badalona is one of Barcelona’s closest neighbours and the fourth largest city in Catalonia.
