Building work connecting Ca l’Antoniet and Bòbila areas in Sitges commences

A couple of weeks ago, building contractors started clearing the site for the execution of the Bòbila II Partial Plan in Sitges, prior to the start of construction work.

This project was approved in a local Plenary back in March 2016, in a narrow win of 11 votes to 10, with the votes in favour at the time coming from the parties CiU, ERC, NH and the PP.

The PSC, Cs, CUP, ICV and SGI had all voted against it, in a local government in which the Mayor was Miquel Forns, and the local councillor for urban projects was Jordi Mas.

Precisely, one of the people who voted against it, is now the local councillor for urbanism, Carme Gasulla, who has acknowledged that because it was a project already approved by the Plenary, ‘it must be implemented, yes or yes’.

Initially, it was an area that was to be used only for single-family homes but it was later changed to be able to build a service station and commercial uses.
