Spain sets new tourism record with 22.3 million foreign visitors in July-August

Spain received a record 22.3 million foreign visitors during July and August, confirming another bumper year for its vital tourism industry, according to figures released on Thursday.

The National Statistics Institute (INE) reported that 11.3 million international tourists travelled to Spain in August, led mainly by visitors from Britain, France and Germany.

That total represented a 2.9% rise compared with August 2024, following the 11 million arrivals recorded in July, itself up 1.6% on the year. ALSO READ: Spain posts July tourism record, but growth loses momentum.
