Madrid welcomes new dance festival

A new dance festival, MoverMadrid, gets underway in the Spanish capital on 31 January with the objective of promoting contemporary dance among local audiences.

Lasting six months, MoverMadrid is an initiative from dancer-choreographers Poliana Lima, from Brazil, and Lucas Condró, who hails from Argentina, in collaboration with the Cuatra Pared theatre.

The festival features a selection of activities that provide a space to reflect on and enjoy the latest trends in dance.

One week a month, a series of performances will highlight the work of creatives from and living in Madrid, while parallel events include workshops (participants have the chance to buy tickets for festival performances at a special rate) and talks with some of the dancers and choreographers taking part.

On the opening evening, a party is held to kick things off and showcase work by the event’s organisers, while attendees are invited to take an interactive role in the experience.

When: 31 January – 1 June

Where: Sala Teatro Cuatra Pared, Ercilla, 17
