National Ballet of Spain marks 40th anniversary

The Ballet Nacional de España is celebrating its 40th anniversary and marks the occasion this month with a special performance during two weeks at Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela.

The company’s director Antonio Najarro has created a special programme that features a variety of choreographies and some of the most emblematic creations that make up the history of dance in Spain.

The works cover a range of periods and styles from names such as Pilar López, Antonio Gades and Najarro himself. Together they create a global vision of Ballet Nacional de España and its development over the past four decades.
