Spain has now carried out over 10.7m Covid-19 tests (PCR & antibody)

Spain has now carried out over 10.7m diagnostic tests for Coronavirus (Covid-19) since the start of the pandemic.

Spain’s regional governments have notified the central Health Ministry that a total of 7,674,033 PCR tests have now been carried out up to 10 September.

During the week of 4-10 September, the regional governments carried out 631,238 PCR tests – a 9% increase on the previous week, and now a rate of 162.93 PCR tests per 1,000 inhabitants.

In addition, the regional governments also reported that a total of 2,320,953 rapid antibody tests have now been carried out – 35,894 of them between 4-10 September, a rate of 49.28 tests per 1,000 inhabitants.

Furthermore, a total 761,849 antibody blood tests have also been carried out, 102,377 from 4-10 September, 16% up on the previous week, at a rate of 16.18 per 1,000 inhabitants.

This makes a total of 10,756,835 diagnostic tests for Covid-19 carried out since the start of the pandemic, of which 769,509 correspond to the week 4-10 September.
