BarTomeu, named after the patron saint of Sitges (Sant Bartomeu), is both a brasserie and a tapas bar. Located in the heart of the town, this restaurant has a selection of traditional tapas, combined with contemporary tapas that always have a different touch.
The restaurant is run by Martín Perez, a young entrepreneur from Sitges, who spent two years in Manchester that made him change his perception of hospitality and business in general. After opening a cafeteria in England, and operating it for one year, he realised that he had to return to his homeland to take advantage of the momentum and energy that his experience in the UK had given him, and to open his first business in Spain.
With the help of his friends and family, who are also part of the soul of the project, he decided to undertake the project in his hometown – Sitges.
The head chef of the restaurant is Gabriel Perez, Martín’s cousin and in charge of all the management of the food part of BarTomeu.
Alejandro aka “Kixi” and Celia Molina are the soul of the BarTomeu bar. With them, no-one will be dissatisfied or neglected, and even if they don’t have the Perez surname, they are part of Martín’s family and consequently of the BarTomeu family.
As an element to highlight, the majority of our dishes go through a Josper-style charcoal oven at some point, leaving an irreplaceable flavour and aroma as a hallmark of our restaurant.
The star dishes of the restaurant are: croquettes, recognised throughout the town as one of the best, octopus and picanha, these last two dishes with a grilled flavour and a simple treatment of the raw material used as a strong point.
We must not forget the incredible assortment of vegan options, which is the other pillar on which the restaurant’s menu is based, showing that not only products of animal origin are important on the grill, but there are also vegetable options that are also tasty and sustainable.
