The Sitges Local Police arrested two people accused of stealing a wallet and mobile phones at 4am on Sunday. The arrest was made at the Can Perico roundabout, when a police patrol stopped the offenders’ vehicle, which was preparing to leave Sitges, during a routine check.
During the control, the agents checked the interior of the car and found three mobile phones hidden in different places, including the glove compartment and under the seats. In addition, they also found a wallet, where inside there were several objects and documentation belonging to another person, as well as an iPhone 12.
By coincidence, at that moment the owner of the wallet was passing through the same area, preparing to go to the police station to report the theft. The man informed the police officers that he had seen the two alleged offenders stop people in the vicinity of the premises where the wallet had been stolen from him, on Carrer Joan Tarrida.
The two accused of the crime were taken to the control area of the Mossos d’Esquadra in the Passeig de la Ribera in Sitges, so that they could then be taken to the Mossos police station in Vilanova. The victim of the robbery went to the Local Police offices in Poble Sec, to file an official report of the theft.
