Garraf toll rises to almost €8, but discounts are also increasing

The toll for the Garraf tunnels has increased to €7,79 from 1 January, an increase of 7.3% compared to the €7,26 of 2022. However, new discounts have also come into force, which means in some cases when there is maximum use, the discount increases from the previous 40% to 50%.

The €7,79 for the Vallcarca barrier is almost €1 more than what was paid at the end of December 2021, which was €6,89. Every 1 January, the concessionaire applies increases to the rates in relation to the IPC. The 7.3% corresponds to the year-on-year increase in the IPC up to the month of October. In December, however, the increase in the IPC was 5.8%.

The increase of 7.3% in Vallcarca is the highest of those applied from today across all Catalan tolls, together with that of Vallvidrera. In other motorways across Catalonia (Túnel del Cadí and Terrassa-Manresa) the figure is between 6.5 and 7.1%.

The new discounts for vehicles that use the tolls regularly have also come into force. Until now, the maximum discount was 40% but it now increases to 50%. These reductions are for those who use the motorway on the same day and are registered in the ‘mandatory mobility register’. In other words, these are bonuses for those who use them for work reasons on a daily basis, but not for people from the Garraf who go to Barcelona occasionally, or vice versa.
