Second promotion of Sitges HPO ‘social housing’ now has tenants allocated

The promotion of subsidised ‘social housing’ under the Sitges Town Council’s Officially Protected Housing (HPO) scheme in the Bòbila area of the town (near the former equestrian centre) already has its tenants allocated, after a draw was recently held before a notary.

The result of the draw can be consulted at sitges.cat/housing. Those people initially awarded homes can now start the procedures for signing the contracts before the handing over of the keys, scheduled for 17 December, before the Christmas holidays.

This second development with a total of 61 homes (in 4 buildings) is located at Calle Felip Font i Falp, 65 in Sitges. The homes are between 57 and 81 m2. It is estimated that the approximate monthly rent will be between 525 and 764 euros, community expenses not included. All the homes have outdoor spaces, a storage room, a parking space and AA energy certification, with an aerothermal and photovoltaic system.

For the 235 registered applicants with an income of less than €21,000 per year, 12 were lucky in being allocated homes, twice as many as in the last promotion. There was a preferential reservation: two 2-room homes for people with disabilities or reduced mobility, from a list of 14 applicants. The homes were distributed as follows:

  • General: 4 two-bedroom homes (1-person cohabitation units)
  • General: 19 two-bedroom homes (units for 2 to 3 people)
  • General: 22 three-bedroom homes (units for 4 to 5 people)
  • General: 2 houses with 4 rooms (units of cohabitation for 6 to 7 people)
  • Low income: 2 two-bedroom homes (1-person cohabitation units)
  • Low income: 5 two-bedroom homes (2 to 3-person cohabitation units)
  • Low income: 5 houses with 3 rooms (units of coexistence of 4 to 5 people)
  • Adapted homes: 2 two-bedroom homes (living units for 1 to 3 people)

Soon, the process will begin for the third promotion, in Carrer Lola Anglada (behind the Parc del Drac de Sitges), which will be finalised before the summer 2023.

Back in June, Sitges Town Council held a ceremony to present the keys to the winners of the first 43 homes of social housing under the HPO scheme.

In total, 175 flats will have been granted official protection in 12 months. There is another larger development in La Plana, of approximately 500 homes, which has yet to be designed.
