Improved sidewalks in the Terramar area of Sitges will be ready in June

The first phase work being carried out to reform the sidewalks in the Terramar area of Sitges will be completed around the date of Sant Joan (24 June), with the telephone and street lighting companies to complete their wiring work later on. The plan is that during the month of July everything will be fully finished.

Some streets already have the new pavement tiles in place, replacing the old ones that had been in a very poor condition for decades due to the growth of the roots of trees. The work is being carried out in stages, although some streets are already finished and waiting for the installation of cables.

The scope of the work covers the streets of Juan de la Cierva, Pintor Ramon Casas, a section of Avinguda Navarra, Enric Clarassó, Roig i Soler and Torres Quevedo. In addition to improving the sidewalks, the work involves the burying of telephone, communications and electricity lines.

The refurbishment of Terramar’s sidewalks involves an investment of 1.3 million euros by Sitges Town Council. Once completed, their maintenance will be part of the internal service of the council.
