A third of residents in Sitges and Ribes have now received at least one jab

The rate of vaccinations against Covid-19 is advancing at a good pace. 33.35% of residents in Sitges and 32.17% of those in Sant Pere de Ribes have already received at least one first jab. Over 15,000 vaccines have already been administered in both municipalities, between the first and second doses.

Last week saw, once again, the highest number of vaccinations administered to residents of Sitges: 1,175 first doses and 480 second.

The rate has increased due to the supply of more vaccines from the Catalan health department, plus the fact that those born between 1962 and 1971 are now also being called for jabs. The opening of the Vilanova Railway Museum has also facilitated the process.

However, the percentage of people fully vaccinated is still low: 4,157 people from Sitges (14.18% of the population as a whole, including children) and 4,085 residents of Ribes and Les Roquetes (13.29%). The figures are still slightly lower than the Catalan average, which is 16.86%.
