Vaccinations now proceeding at a good rate

The number of vaccinations against Covid-19 administered last week (10-16 May) to citizens of Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes was the highest since the campaign began, now more than four months ago. A total of 1,521 vaccines for Sitges citizens and 1,608 for Sant Pere de Ribes show that the pace of vaccinations has vastly improved.

The start of vaccinating people born between 1962 and 1971 has helped to accelerate the entire process. The facilities of the Museu del Ferrocarril (railway museum) in Vilanova have become the main local centre for vaccinations, where people from Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes can go. Unlike the previous weeks, inoculations are also taking place on Saturdays, which has increased the rate even further.

To date, there are 3,566 citizens from Sitges and 3,303 from Sant Pere de Ribes who have now been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. This represents 12.16% and 11.52% of the population respectively, figures that are still slightly below the 14.88% across Catalonia. At least one dose has now been received by 28.64% of the population of Sitges and 27.89% for Sant Pere de Ribes.
