Plans for a logistics hub to distribute merchandise with electric vehicles

Sitges Town Council is planning to set up a logistics hub on one of the main access routes to the town in order to centralise and coordinate the distribution of goods and merchandise within the centre of the town itself, using electric vehicles.

The initiative is part of the projects of sustainable mobility and energy transition that the municipal authorities will present in the European Union to request funding from the Next Generation economic recovery funds.

Although the exact location of the logistics hub has not yet been formally decided, the place that has more possibilities is the current public parking lot of Can Robert. Its proximity to the centre of the town and the beaches, as well as the Can Milà complex – the new technical hub that will be inaugurated in June – would make it the ‘ideal scenario’, according Luismi García, local councillor for Tourism and Strategic Projects.
